Hey joe! very sorry for the late reply i had to leave the country to attend an urgent matter! I burnt the cd and was about to load it up and realized i don't have the navigation dvd reader in the boot. How can i solve my black screen now?

HI
I would say its corrupted the software, boot software on your navigation
the secret menu is ok, as long as you dont hit any of the update software buttons
there is some information on other forums
there is a file you can download and burn to a disc you put it in the NAV DISC, not cd player and it will update/restore your nav software
if you get stuck let me know, i think i have the software
cheers
joe
hey joe,
i actually never had the cd for the navigation and never used the navigation on this car! so would it be okay to still burn this one "LOADING.KWI" file on a disc and try to insert it in the back?

Hey guys! just recently joined this site heard it was very useful! i have a huge problem right now, my friend was playing around with the navigation screen (i don't have the cd in the back so the navigation does not work) and he entered some hidden diagnostics screen by holding down the phone and menu buttons at the same time! i believe he accidentally clicked some update or restore of some sort, it said failed and the screen wasn't going away, i tried turning off my car and even taking the battery out but now my screen doesn't even work! please this is very urgent if you guys know what to do let me know thanks a lot!!

Hey joe! i was not able to get back into the hidden menu I'm still stuck with the same problem. I'm not too sure if this will be useful but i cannot control my heaters and stuff. the small screen under the head unit which shows the dual climate control keeps on switching from 51 to 50 (ext) and the heater is always on. Jimmy i do not have the navigation system fitted in the boot.
