Hello I have recently brought the Jaguar xtype SE 2.0D but the fan comes on straight away as soon as I start the engine and then when I turn engine off and remove key the fan turns off after about 5 secs now I have read the HAYNES manual and its pointing at either the temperature gauge or the cooling module but wanted to here what you guys think as you do all own jags and thank you in advance.

Thank you tigger and jimc64 really appreciate the replies yh it's a 2004 04 plate with 177000 on the clock but been well looked after mechanically as we know the person that I brought it off so I'll take your advise and change fuel filter Oil and Oil filter and air filter and like you say go from there.
