Hi All, For a long while I have been looking for a Manual facelift XJS, last week I final found one that has had a minor crash. I work in the salvage industry and have repaired many personal vehicles over the years so the repair doesn't faze me. The car has been well cared for, so I don't have a huge amount to do apart from fixing the ding. I am looking for a bonnet, nearside rear corner light, front grill, chrome trim above grill and mid-section chrome for the top of the front bumper. Both front lights (and bezels) were damaged but I don't need these as I have bought a twin light conversion kit from an amazing local specialist (Norman Motors). Working in the industry, I am reasonably well connected for recycled parts, but none of my existing contacts in mainland UK have what I need. For the last few days I have been messaging sellers on eBay, emailing breakers and specialist as well as generally getting my head around who the go to people in the industry are. Most of the parts that I need are available, but I want to make sure I have all my options before making my purchases in the days ahead. If anyone has a recommendation of a source or any of you have the parts to for sale, please let me know. I will post a few snaps of the car to share the damage... I didn't mention the wings in the parts list as I will repair the ones on the car. Part Needed: Bonnet Nearside rear corner light Front grill Chrome trim above grill Mid-section chrome for the top of the front bumper All the best Piers

Press the lock/arm button on the fob rapidly about 6-10 times. Also if you have a spare key, check whether it will start with that, it's not unknown for a key with an RFID chip inside for the immobiliser to "lose" it's code and cease to operate the immobiliser disarm. Are you able to read the DTCs at all?

Hi everyone, driving down the motorway today my EML came on. Car is 2.0D 2017 125000 miles booked in to Halfords next to work to at least diagnose as no other symptoms and they read the following codes: p2BAE-00 NOx Exceedance P25A9-13 piston Cooling oil circuit/open P049B-00 Exhaust Gas recirculation like I say no other symptoms. Had a google of these and a few different things come up as expected. Not clear which one triggered the EML but seeing things from Ad-Blue sensor mucky or failing piston solonoid failing or more onerous the timing chain is loose and cause this error. I know Inginium engines have timing chain issues so one to monitor but don’t have a low oil warning or any issues with oil level? The garage reset the codes and they didn’t come back on but I’ve bought a carissa monitor so can at least monitor what comes back up more readily. Also bought some wynns fuel and ad blue cleaning incase it is just mucky sensors. Any advice on what to check or keep an eye out for? Like I say 125000k miles so wondering if I should be looking at timing chain replacement regardless 🤔

OK OK OK I know I just keep asking questions, BUT you guys/girls have done it to yourselves by being so helpful 😁😁 I have a lot of niggly problems with this car but for some reason I want to keep it and fix it, the front shocks are leaking and need replacing, looking around trying to find front strut assemblies without selling my bottom on the streets is not an option (Yes I have the CATs system) my question is can I just install normal Struts and not reconnect the CATs wires and if so will it cause any issues ? See a simple question NOT Thank you in advance for your help. Gary Alias Jagvette1 on You Tube

I came across Suffolk Sportscars (as i think they were called then) some 35 years ago when their range was just the one model, think it was a D Type replica or similar. First time i've seen one of their SS100 models and first knowledge i had of that model reincarnation. Beautiful to see and learn of its existence though.

thank you i have nothing not even a click when i try to operate the roof, it was working fine as were the blinds before it went to workshop, they asked if it was working i said yes but never tested it till i was home, he had an obd reader on it and said no roof module detected, i assumed he had re programmed it, the garage is 2 hours away or i would take it back, i will check the plug on the fan to see it it is loose or indeed not plugged in and let you know again thanks for the suggestions

I thought an update may be in order. I took the "dodgy" risk of not locking the car whilst it was on the boat, it I believed worked, we sailed through the remnants of Storm Bernard it was a bit (ok very!) bumpy and the old girl fired up when we got to port. On return I could hear a lot of alarms going of, though not ours. Yipee Thanks for all the suggestions

Hi All, New to the forum, so please let me know if this isn’t the right place to post. I own a 2012 Jaguar XKR 5.0 SC (X150) which has developed an intermittent starting issue. When I go through the normal starting procedure, I get a single click but no crank from the starter motor. Naturally, this appears to not be receiving the voltage needed to crank. Please Note: I’ve already replaced the battery, and spent quite a bit of time and money diagnosing this problem with various garages (including some JLR specialists), but so far, no luck. The following parts have just been replaced with OEM parts from JLR (thankfully most under warranty). Parts replaced over the past couple of months: Battery (Yuasa) Starter motor (OEM) Battery negative terminal loom (OEM) Charged battery to full on CTEK charger, and issue persists even with a full battery or jump pack. Originally, the fault threw up DTC codes related to the camshaft position sensors (both banks), but I’ve since been told that’s a false flag caused by low voltage during cranking. My readings show 12.6V at the rear battery, but only around 11.3V reaching the front — clearly indicating voltage drop somewhere along the line. I’m now troubleshooting this myself on the driveway. The warranty company were great and covered most of the above work, but as the policy has expired (and can’t be renewed with an ongoing fault), I’m on my own for the next steps. Interestingly, this weekend I've spotted a small amount of water ingress, in the right-hand side boot where the FM antenna booster module (C2P2761) sits. I've removed the module and the car has started perfectly a couple of times. This is unusual given recent months, but certainly welcome! Has anyone experienced this issue before or can point me in the right direction on what to check next? - One area of focus now is the earth straps... However, I cannot find an easy to follow diagram of where the main earth straps are on the car. I have spoken with JLR parts locally, and C2C8864 - Jaguar Earth strap is no longer available. Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards, Mick

What i did was got some 5mm thick angle aluminium, drilled some holes in the right place and fitted nutserts in. Then using some penny washers through the remains of the crash bar, bolted the aluminium to it. Then (i'd previously drilled holes and nutserts for the exhaust hanger) i bolted the hanger to it. Nobody would ever know and Mr MoT man gave a nod of approval.

Quick update: Cleaning the plug and socket didn't work, it looks like there is damage on the BCM board. Thankfully there is a Jag specialist with an electronics Wizz nearby so I'm going to whip the bcm out over the weekend and take it down there. They said it should be plug and play once they've re-pinned it but they want me to bring the car down after so they can re-pin the plug as well. I should know in about a week if it's worked or not. If not I'm guessing I'll have to fork out for a new bcm and programming from JLR main dealer. Alex

Hi. I am just wondering if anyone can recommend a garage for maintenance work on my 2006 XKR. I try to avoid the Jaguar dealership, however, I do struggle to find mechanics who have sufficient technical knowledge to carry out repairs. I am based in Beds, so Beds or Bucks area would be ideal. Thanks. Claire

Hi Philip, unfortunately there are several "Newlands" spread across the UK so an internet search is unlikely to turn up any specific Jaguar dealership from 1966. However, you may get some clue from the car's original registration number as these were issued by the local county council back in the day. At least it might help you narrow your search. N6 JMX

They are going back to Taiwan. They are not a good fit to either side i.e. the left side, which is without a mirror cover or the right side, which still has the cover. Spyderromeo

Thanks, guys, between you, you have given me more confidence to tackle the Job. I have used the fishing line trick before when we had to create large graphics for our exhibition stands, but we were dealing with freshly applied double-sided tape, not hard 14-year-old tape. As a keen Carp angler, there is no shortage of fishing line in my house. The heat solution had never occurred to me; it just shows that many heads are better than one. I tend to use Nail varnish remover (acetone) as my solvent (any comments). In fact, I use it to remove tar and stubborn labels. I know it's car paint safe, as I have used it on Zero (the car) before Spyderromeo Zero is the car's name, as is its reg, as is my little company.

Wheel centre caps
N6 JMX replied to notelbme's topic in Jaguar Parts and Accessories For Sale & Wanted
Hi David, lots of places will sell the aftermarket versions, but finding a decent set of the OEM black centre caps could be more testing. Try places like DCR AutoParts, who are a specialist Jaguar supplier based in Inverness, or one of the specialist Breakers such as Auto Reserve. Both easily located by a search engine, or come back here and I can post links for you. N6 JMX -
Thanks a lot for the explanation. I did top up the refrigerant and do full service including pollen filter change at the local jaguar dealership. Still the issue persist. But I suppose its normal then. Thanks gain.
