  2. Hi Guys, The exhaust is hanging on my XF 2011 and I took it to a garage and both have said that I need a new rear crash bar due to corrosion. Does anyone have any for sale? Jaguar is quoting £830 which is far too expensive. I am in the Manchester area if there are any good garages that can maybe weld some new exhaust brackets or whatever instead? Who else has had this problem and what was the solution? Intrigued to know, thank you 🙂

  4. Hi guys Got the same issue, need a rear crash bar, Anyone with a spare or recommend an alternative solution? Any good welders? In the manchester area. Thanks
  5. Quick update: Cleaning the plug and socket didn't work, it looks like there is damage on the BCM board. Thankfully there is a Jag specialist with an electronics Wizz nearby so I'm going to whip the bcm out over the weekend and take it down there. They said it should be plug and play once they've re-pinned it but they want me to bring the car down after so they can re-pin the plug as well. I should know in about a week if it's worked or not. If not I'm guessing I'll have to fork out for a new bcm and programming from JLR main dealer. Alex
  6. Have you "told" the car it has a new battery? The car's brain needs to be informed that there is a new battery fitted so it adjusts the charging rates from the alternator. Use either a decent code reader, or a friendly local garage with the appropriate diagnostic equipment. Alternatively, may be something more insidious in the ECU or wiring. N6 JMX

  8. OK, I know these code/problems are covered in this wonderful forum, BUT I wonder what is the most common problem and can you guys give me a head start to solving them ? Transmission problems Code P0706 and P0730 Do note, I have 167,000 miles on the car I have just replaced the solenoid block/filter and fluid (the faults were there before) Emissions code P0430 dat damn Cadillac (many Americans I have met call it that) cunvorter error, OR just an oxygen sensor ? Any help to shortcut fixing these errors would be gratefully received. Gary
  9. hi jim thank you for getting back to me . i will contact them thanks agin allan
  10. Very likely to be the cause! Good luck with the clean up!
  11. I think this may be the culprit... If I'm reading the schematic correctly, fuel sender return is a green/blue cable that is in the loom/plug at the bottom right of the rear junction box. and this is what i found inside it. Looks like liquid ingress at some point. I'll try and clean it up and let you know how I get on. Thanks for all the help so far! download.jfif
  12. Hello, I have a Jaguar FType 2015 which has a electrical issue. The airbag light (yellow) will show and not go off and then the tyre pressure warning light comes on. All the tyres have enough air in and the system is reading the air pressure correctly. When I do a re set they go off for a few days. The battery is new and I have made sure they car is going in to sleep mode. Not sure what to do next and has anyone had the same issues? Thanks Ash.
  13. Hi Alex, here is the electrical manual for your car that will help you narrow it down; http://www.jagrepair.com/images/Electrical/Elect-Tech All2/2012 XF - X250Comp.pdf
  14. Happy Friday! So bit of an update: I've managed to get the engine codes read (I work away a lot so don't get as much chance as I'd like to work on the cars) The breakdown was caused by P115A-00 low fuel level limited power followed by P115B-68 forced engine shutdown. I've cleared the codes and the ones I'm getting consistently are: P0460-15 Fuel level sensor A circuit - Circuit short to battery or open P0460-1C Fuel level sensor A circuit - Circuit voltage out of range P1346-15 Fuel level sensor B circuit - Circuit short to battery or open P1346-1C Fuel level sensor B circuit - Circuit voltage out of range Now to me that sounds like a broken earth/negative as that's shared for both circuits. I've had the boot lining out briefly to have a look before it started raining, Would I be right in guessing they go to the fuel control module, which I'm assuming is the one behind the junction box with the megafuses? Or does the negative simply earth to the body somewhere along the line? -Alex
  15. Hi Alan, there are a number of proprietary kits available to retrofit power steering to your Mk 2, with EZ Electric Power Steering being one of the leading options. SNG Barrett are stockists and dealers for the EZ system. If you are looking for a specialist in your area, I note you are Lanarkshire, then you could do worse than contact MacMillan Jaguar (Motherwell) or Prestige Jaguar (Paisley). Both can be found by typing into a search engine, but if you have any difficulty, come back here and i can post contact details. N6 JMX

  17. hi all looking to get power steering for my mk2. any one no of good garages
  18. Hi. I am just wondering if anyone can recommend a garage for maintenance work on my 2006 XKR. I try to avoid the Jaguar dealership, however, I do struggle to find mechanics who have sufficient technical knowledge to carry out repairs. I am based in Beds, so Beds or Bucks area would be ideal. Thanks. Claire
  19. The other thing to ensure is that you are using a reputable, e.g. Duracell / Energizer / etc. key fob battery which has not been purchased from the internet, but a local supermarket or similar. It is not unknown that internet providers are selling defective batteries. You already purchased the battery, but for reference it should be a CR 2032 N6 JMX
  20. Hi Philip, unfortunately there are several "Newlands" spread across the UK so an internet search is unlikely to turn up any specific Jaguar dealership from 1966. However, you may get some clue from the car's original registration number as these were issued by the local county council back in the day. At least it might help you narrow your search. N6 JMX
  21. Hi, can anyone tell me if they know where the Newlands jaguar dealership was in 1966, my Heritage certificate has this dealer as the first original dealer. cheers Phil
  22. many thanks....will check
  23. The contacts inside the key fob are quite fragile, make sure they are not damaged after your replacement battery fit, and in good contact with the battery faces. N6 JMX
  24. Use only Duracell CR2032 and don’t buy off EBay or Amazon. Preferably from a reputable (big box) store like Home Depot, Lowe’s etc…
  25. Hi.....have replaced battery in key fob & now it does not work!....any clues gratefully received (this is all a Bit new to me)
  26. They are going back to Taiwan. They are not a good fit to either side i.e. the left side, which is without a mirror cover or the right side, which still has the cover. Spyderromeo
  27. Thanks, guys, between you, you have given me more confidence to tackle the Job. I have used the fishing line trick before when we had to create large graphics for our exhibition stands, but we were dealing with freshly applied double-sided tape, not hard 14-year-old tape. As a keen Carp angler, there is no shortage of fishing line in my house. The heat solution had never occurred to me; it just shows that many heads are better than one. I tend to use Nail varnish remover (acetone) as my solvent (any comments). In fact, I use it to remove tar and stubborn labels. I know it's car paint safe, as I have used it on Zero (the car) before Spyderromeo Zero is the car's name, as is its reg, as is my little company.
  28. This site may have them and they have supplied the part numbers also; https://www.duckworthparts.co.uk/jaguar/jaguar-f-type-pair-of-carbon-fibre-mirror-coversjx1522
  29. Very scarce indeed but within this thread is a guy who manufactures replacements; https://forums.jag-lovers.com/t/replacement-for-ac-idler-pulley-bearing-eac3042-pulley-carrier-ebc1091/374604
