  1. Past hour
  2. I have now received the mirrors, which interestingly came from Taiwan. They look fabulous before I offer them to the car. Just for your information, I know it was my risk, but they are quite a long way from being an acceptable fit. I have asked for fitting advice in case I am being stupid, but I fully expect them to be going back to Taiwan; they are very rigid, and the OEM one I am trying to replace was quite springy. I will keep everyone informed as to the progress. These cost £90, and that was fine for a good fitting part, so does anyone know of an alternative source, cos I think I will need one. Even if the current supplier does what other long-distance suppliers sometimes do and say keep the parts and or? as it is, too expensive to return them, I don't think I could make them fit without damaging the chromed edges and leaving them prone to plastic/ chrome corrosion or festering whatever happens, or is it still stable if it has been filed and trimmed? 4. Hi Kevin, it would be helpful if you gave a bit more information about the diff issue to allow folks to assess what type of service / assistance you might need. From memory, there was an episode of "Salvage Hunters Classic Cars" with Paul Cowland taking a differential to a specialist who worked from his garden shed in the Northeast of England. This guy completely rebuilt the diff - is that the level of service you are seeking? N6 JMX

  6. Anybody able to help, please...
  7. Hi guys, had my baby quiet a few years now but had a diff issue since I bought her from Astin Martin newcastle...... need a diff repair but have been quoted silly money.
  8. Pretty sure it is under the rear parcel shelf. Regards John
  9. Are these what you are after? https://www.jagsparesinternational.co.uk/prodcat.asp?root=|100:259| Good luck John
  10. Hi Andy , well chuffed you finally got your jag back on the road , They can be a nightmare at times REGARDS Dave 62
  11. Welcome aboard Andy, glad to hear your success story and long may that continue!
  12. In that case, it's probably an old code, read the codes again, check there's nothing new and then erase them. Drive the car as normal and see if the codes and charge warning light come back. If the code does come back with the charge warning light, you'll have to take it to where the alternator was fitted, it should have come with some sort of warranty
  13. Oops! Finger trouble - sorry. The car is here. Martin
  14. Oops - finger trouble - sorry. The XK is here.
  15. Hi Martin, welcome to the Forum. If you have an XK8, why post a picture of the F-type? N6 JMX
  16. Hi Andy, welcome to the Forum and great job doing all that commissioning work yourself. N6 JMX
  17. Thanks for the response lairdscooby . Will look into it . I had a replacement alternator and new drive belt fitted when this began so that's probably it . The rectifier you mentioned , is that a replaceable part ? Can any garage do it or is it a jaquar part ? And how much labour is involved? So to bombard with questions but I just need to get this sorted before any more damage is caused . Many thanks in advance
  18. HI justin, sorry about the late reply, thank you for giving me the info, would never have figured it myself...hopefully it will be a cheaper fix, and thanks for the ebay connection. do I need to buy and replace the 2 items you mention? or is it just the gasket ring? thanks again, best, Kevin
  19. quite a story, but that's gone, you got it back, enjoy!
  20. I have just bought an XK8 and absolutely love it. This is my third Jag in my time including the XF which was a 2008 car and quite buggy, and a 2010 XKR coupe which was lovely but crazy. But I am really enkoying this XK with the soft-top. I don't miss the supercharger on the newer version and love the J-Gate.
  21. Hi, just popped by to introduce myself. I’m Andy, 55 from Market Rasen, Lincolnshire. Purchased my first Jaguar (X351), 2016 with 45,500 on 14th February this year and it’s been an eventful few months. 1 day after the dealer 3 month warranty expired she spun a bearing. Fortunately for me I ‘persuaded’ the dealer that the Consumer Rights act covered the vehicle for 6 months from purchase. So they picked her up and took her on a little jaunt around several specialists until they settled on a suitable place to have the work done. Good old InControl letting me track the movements (as well as the air tag onboard!). After 10 & a half weeks of constantly chasing I was able to collect the car and bring her home. You’d think the story would brighten up from there but….. as soon as I hit the motorway she went in to RP and as I didn’t have my OBD with me I wasn’t able to get a fix on the issue. Limped home as I suspected an air leak which was what the codes showed me. I wasn’t prepared to send her back to the dealer again after the way things had gone and set about resolving it. changed MAF A, MAP and cleaned out throttle body (which was badly choked up). Still getting RP periodically but not with any particular set of conditions. Eventually found the air intake pipe from MAF B to turbo was not connected to the turbo. No wonder I was getting RP and soot deposits on the tailpipes. Spent a considerable amount of time at the weekend figuring out how to get the pipe back on when there is zero room for tools down at the turbo to hold the spring clip open enough. Eventually got it sorted and secured. Cleared the DTC again. Hooked up SDD and ran through install throttle body, turbo etc and finally all codes cleared. Now drives like the car I was expecting and I really look forward to getting in and driving with no faults or RP. Sorry for the long story. Just so chuffed to have my car back.
  22. Last week
  23. I agree the maps are nothing to do with it but ,but the maps cannot be updated as the TCU and IMC are out of date preventing the infontain system to operate correctly. Jaguar Land Rover say it won't effect my vehicle Lloyds jaguar aren't as confident. But they'll take £203 for the privilege.
  24. What is your charging voltage? Often if there's an internal fault like a blown rectifier this will trigger the charge warning light. Also if the drive belt is loose it can happen plus a whole host of other causes.
  25. Can any jaquar technicians advise what this code means and any easy fix to get rid of . Getting battery warning light at the same time even though battery is being charged .
  26. Can someone tell me where they put a factory based subwoofer in saloon version of a Jaguar X type Sovereign ? I know where the estate version is.
  27. Have you tried ebay?
  28. Hi I have a 2009 x type estate sovereign. The waste high outside window rubbers have gone rotten and look bad. Apparently this is a common fault as the clips that hold them rust. Does anyone know where I can get a complete new set ? Jaguar Swindon want £650 plus VAT THANKS
  29. I have a Jaguar XF Portfolio March 2015 2.2d, looking in the engine bay last weekend I saw the BLUE connector below that is not connected to anything. Any idea what it is? There is no connector nearby that it could connect to as far as I can see. I'd have thought if it was redundant or for some accessory my car doesn't have then it would have a waterproof plug added???
