My xj8 3.2 wouldn't start I checked the plugs they were OK I was getting fuel so next I changed the crankshaft sensor as my obd reader came up with the code tried starting her again and nothing then I heard a clunk and engine won't turn over I think the problem lies with the timing chain now my question is have i damaged my valves many thanks in advance for any advice

I would think unlikely as the engine wouldnt have been turning over fast enough to cause massive damage that said im no mechanic and could be wrong...
