I have changed the rear discs and pads on my 2.7D S type. Whilst doing this I decided that the caliper had seen better days. I have purchased a new caliper and went to fit it today.

The problem is even with the park brake (electronic) set to released / off, I cannot get the cable end to disconnect from the little hook of the park brake mechanisim due to lack of free play in the cable.

I have read  that you need a special Jaguar tool to plug into the EPB module to release the tension of the cable but others say as long as the brake is in the released position it should be possible to disconnect the cable.

Does anyone have any experience re this issue and have any advice.
