ive just bought a 2003 xj6 every thing working fine for 2 weeks then all of a sudden i cant open or lock the car with either of the 2 fobs i have to use the key.does it need re programming if so how do i do this or does it have to go to a main dealer.

Hi Julian and welcome to the Club.

I am no electrical expert but I do know that main dealers do charge a lot.

The first question is that did you get a warranty from the dealer from whom you bought the car?  If so, a little trip back there is called for.

Otherwise, have a look in the forum on this site "Jaguar Owners Lounge" where you will find a list of recommended garages.

There is also the option of finding an auto locksmith close to you who will probably able to sort it out if it is a fob fault.

Regards,

Peter.
