I've recently had an issue starting the car. The alarm light on the dash would continuously flash, eventually after several attempts of removing the key it would stop flashing and start.

Through some advice I replaced the battery the ignition barrel and exciter ring. The car is better but still occasionally will have the same issue.

What else could it be?

Thanks

 Mike

Hi Michael, and Welcome to the Club.

It sounds a bit like the plugs, or the fuel system.

My s type is a diesel and I gave it a terraclean service and it ran much nicer.  There is the same service for the petrol engine which might be worth looking into.

Regards,

Peter.

Could it be immobiliser issue? There is something in the handbook about flashing led and the number of flashes having different meanings.
