Can anyone advise how to open the boot of a 2001 S type V8 Sports when the battery is flat. There is no key hole in the boot lid itself, (It has a blank disc there)  and I cannot find any 'emergency' manual pull inside the car. The car is open but not the boot. Obviously I cannot get into the boot to recharge the battery!!!

Any thoughts??,

Steve

Hi Steve,

I am surprised that there is not a key entry into the boot. There certainly is on mine. Post facelift, though.

Have you checked underneath the chrome finish on the boot at the left hand side?

Other than that it is possible to get through to the boot via the drop down armrest.

Peter.

Excellent - thank Peter. I was expecting the key hole to be where one presses to open the boot - not underneath and hidden.

Anyway it's open and now I can charge the battery. In fact the car is a right-off - I hit some oil on the road and made quite a mess -  but I want to salvage what I can.

Many thanks.
