Hi just joined and popped in to say hello,

First time I've owned a jaguar, bought a 05 s-type wanted one for as Long as I can remember, so took the plunge, and bought a 2.7 diesel twin turbo S, loving every minute of it, apart from the frequent trips to the petrol station lol,

Hi Paul, and welcome to the club.

 

The S Type is a great car to drive and does turn heads, even round here where they are made.

 

I am rather surprised that you are visiting the Petrol Station a lot, as I am finding the 2.7D engine rather frugal.

 

A lot depends on driving techniques as well as the fuel you are using.  Also, it is worth having the Terraclean service, which for about £125 is well worth the money.

 

I usually use Shell V Power and normally get around 28 mpg driving in the city and short journeys, but I do get in the high forties on long journeys, and I had 50.3 mpg driving from here to Sheffield.
