New guy saying hello

II purchased a mint X Type 02 just before Christmas. it's my first Jaguar and I love it. I needed a 'sensible' family cruiser and wanted a lot for my money. I think i have found a really underated saloon here. Great, as they are bargains right now. Lets keep that to ourselves : )

Welcome to the Club, Mark.

The X type is an underrated car. It is well made, well equipped, and very comfortable.  It was once described as "nippy" by a motoring journalist - not a word I would have used, but the 2.5 and 3.0 AWD versions do show a great turn of speed.

You will enjoy your car, and I hope you will enjoy the Club, too.

Regards,

Peter.

Hi Peter, i view them as cruisers but having said that my 2.0 petrol (manual) does seem pretty light and direct. I can only assume this is to the weight decrease of not having the AWD system. But i can throw it about a lot and it's only failing to me is it's FWD but it's such a lovely piece of kit i can live with that. Performance is not bad but mpg is poor.
