c1799 hall effect failure...  The dash displays Parkbrake fault  and i can get it off by disconnecting battery but comes back,  everything has been checked and all working but can't get fault off display ?

hi

have a look here

basically you have a bad connection or broken wire in the wiring between the control unit in the boot and electronic parking brake motor

Yes I've seen that,  but i can't find any broken wire

Hi

If you have done the tests and every thing checks ok

then it must either be the EPB motor or control module

I'd go with the EPB motor but they are not cheap, you either wait till its gets worse or try swapping one

shame you dont know someone else with one you could swap the control module, to eliminate that as that would only take a short time to swap

cheers

Thanks Joe for your time,  I'm gonna strip again sometime this week,  need to sort as getting rid and wouldn't want to accept a car with fault displaying.
