Has anyone had this  problem, without any reason all the front lights on my S Type (05), including fog and indicators, lights on the centre consul, interior lights apart from over head spots stop working, yet the driver display cluster works normally and displays that the lights are on, high beam on etc etc when i've turned them on, yet nothing is working. The wipers activate on their own, yet won't work when i turn them on, electronic boot release fails to work, steering goes heavy, yet all the rear lights work normally. This happened to me just before christmas and i had to get home on the back of a break down truck. Next day i took the car to a garage and as usual everything worked normally and no fault could be found. Today i started the car and guess what, no front lights, wipers and steering was heavy, yet all the lights at the rear worked normally. Has this happened to anyone else

Welcome to the Club, Stuart.

Often there are some curious electrical issues that pop up now and then.  It is well worth checking your battery as the S Type likes a fully charged battery.

It could be a cheap fx.

Others more expert than myself in electrics will also advise.

Regards,

Peter.

Hi Stuart,

I doubt that it is the original battery, but as I said, it is worth checking the condition of it.

And as  S Type driver with the battery in the boot, you could also check the terminal connection which sometimes get disturbed.

Regards,

Peter.
