Hi chaps, I have gotten an 2004 x type as my first car and have been really enjoying it for the past 8 months. Just really wanted to say hi to all the members here really so hi all.

X Type as a 1st car, can't be bad, mine was an Austin 1800, you may need to google that as it was a long time ago!

And mine was an Austin A35 ... an even longer time ago!

The X Type is a great car and I think it's more of a true jag (look wise) then the modern counterparts, my favourite car of all is the C Type (I hope to own one, one day).

It makes me feel really ancient but my first car was a 1936 Rover 12, it cost me the princely sum of £10 which was two weeks wages then.Three point turns were impossible there was no steering lock, you needed muscles like Hercules to turn the steering wheel it had running boards wedged on with fence stops.Worth a fortune now if you could fine one.

Congrats on your first Jag,

Bought my first car in 1980, it was a 1968 Austin Mini traveller with timber side frames, worth a fortune today.
