Hi , I have a x type 2.2 and its has broken down on me ,i was driving it as normal then it made a noise like something hit the windscreen,as soon as that happened i lost power and it drove very rough we have looked at pipes and nothing seems split the turbo is now whistling and it sounds like a tractor ????????

Hi Sammy, and Welcome to the Club,

My sons the same problem with his x type 2.0 diesel.

So far I am guessing that it is either the turbo, the turbo actuator, or a very mucky EGR valve.

Good luck.

Regards,

Peter.

Hi Sammy...welcome to the club!

I would take the car to a garage as soon as possible as if the turbo has failed it could do more damage to the engine.

Let us know how you get on
