New and need help!

Featured Replies

Hi all,

New to this forum so I'm looking forward to browsing around - but am in immediate need of help from the floor please! I'm taking my kids on a week's camping holiday in August. Earlier in the year I just about squeezed in a weekend's worth of stuff in the car, but for a week it's a non-starter. Looking for advice please on cost effective solutions... roof rack and box, or tow bar and trailer? Quotes for tow bars are coming out at £600+, which is a little steep.

What's the gen, my fellow petrol guzzlers?!

Chars muchly,

Hi XF,

Two boys, SWMBO, me, one 4 person tent, 4 sleeping bags, a primus stove, groundsheets, cooking utensils, a table, and all the clothes needed would just fit into a 1.3 Ford Escort for two weeks in Scotland.

Roof rack was just over £3.

It can be done!

The following year SWMBO got a Ford Escort Estate, so the roof rack was dumped.

Regards,

Peter.
