I sold my 2008 XK in 2015 before I moved to the US for a couple of years. I am moving back to the UK early next year and want to upgrade to a 5.0 litre but can't decide between an older XKR or a newer  XK. Is the XKR worth the extra?

I went from a 4.2 XK to a 5.0 XKR and there is no way I would now go for an XK.

I know you question is a little different but for me it would depend on the intended use of the car. If you want a daily runner - I'd suggest the 5.0 XK. However, if you intend weekend use only - I'd go for the 4.2 XKR.

Thanks! I will be using it as a daily car so the only way to choose will be to try them both.

The reason for differentiating between daily and weekend use was purely a cost thing - the fuel costs and the maintenance costs will be quite a bit cheaper for a non-supercharged model - problem is - if you drive the R you're not going to buy a 5.0 litre N/A model !!!
