Hi Chaps,

My V6 S type year 2000 wont engage into drive ! if I push gear knob over to 4th and back into drive it then engages, whats wrong ?

I suppose I could live with i,t if no further damage occurs due to this method of getting her going.

There a cable on the j-gate that goes to the gearbox

it might just want adjusting, by moveing it over to 4th and back, might just move in to position, could be just off position

looks like there's no adjustment at the gearbox, its at the j-gate

It could be some kind of switch inside the j-gate

when you put into drive, does the "D" letter light up on the j-gate

if not it might j-gate that need to be looked at

yes mate the D lights up, just wont engage ?
