Hi , does anyone know how hard it will be to upgrade my sound system to a premium sound one ? I know i will need a different parcel shelf for the two sub speakers and door handles with the tweeters in also a amplifier and upgraded door speakers . I was wondering if any members have had it done .

I cant answer your question, sorry.  I can though encourage you to push on with it.  I've just bought an X-Type with the Jag premium system, with Alpine speakers.  I thought the previous system I had in my Nissan was good, but the Jag Premium system is simply OUTSTANDING!  Especially if, like me, you enjoy a good base sound.  You wont be disappointed with it.

Everything is available on ebay Alpine door speakers and tweeters  , amp , rear parcel shelf with subs . The only thing i'm having trouble finding is the interior door handles where the tweeters sit and of course someone to fit it all . Hopefully it will all come together eventually . I was a dj for years so i like to listen to a good quality sound system .

In principle, easy enough Andrew, but you're going to have to contend with there being no loom pre-installation. As far as I'm aware, pre-installed wiring for Premium sound wasn't fitted in X-Type until 2005.

Ah i see , i knew it wouldn't be straight forward it rarely ever is lol . I will have to call in to AUDIO ISLAND near where i live to see what they can do . It's not a top priority at this minute but I will get it sorted one way or another in the next few months .
