Hi I have a 3.0 auto x type that has gone into limp mode.. On set off its got full power but at about 25 mph it won't change gear and it's as if the clutch is slipping... Slow down to around 10 mph put your foot down and off it goes again full power until you hit 25/35 mph & it goes back into limp mode again... Any ideas I'd be very grateful thanks Rizla 👍👍

On "Wheeler Dealers" they bought a Porsche Boxter S with a faulty gearbox in that the clutches slipped, and the fault was cured quite cheaply by replacing the transmission fluid and filter. If it were me, I;d give it a go.

Definitely worth checking the connections to the control module behind the glove box. Had problems with mine, checked the connections & gave them a good soak in WD40 & now the gearbox now works perfectly.

Reading various forums it seems this is a common problem.

Hi

worth a try, make sure you don't switch the ignition on with the gearbox disconnected, as it will throw up loads of faults

make sure none of the terminals are corroded, if they are try clean them with a fine slat blade screw driver

this will work on the 5 speed but not the 6 speed, 6 speed has the ECU built into the gearbox

cheers

Joe
