Glow plugs timer relay

Featured Replies

Experiencing poor cold weather starting on my 2.7 diesel automatic. Noticed the glow lamp is only staying on for approx. 1 second. Suspect the timer relay is faulty, can anyone advise where it's located.

Hi

Its control via a module via the engine ecu, glow time depends on temp

I'd say you have lost some of the glowplugs and thats why you struggling

you need check them with a multimeter, they read very low resistance usually less than 10 ohms

here some info out of JTIS that might help

cheers

Joe

Many thanks Joe, certainly very helpful, will do the basic checks. My work colleague has same s type model and his glow light stays on for approx 3 seconds when both started under same temperature conditions, so confused.

Regards Dave
