XF S BRAKE PADS WARNING SENSOR

Featured Replies

Hi, my brake pads low warning has appeared, I'm going to change the pads but the wire for the sensor goes up behind the inner wheel arch, do I need to remove the wheel arch to get to the cable connection?

Yep I've seen that but my s model is not like that, my wire goes behind the inner wheel arch.

Hi

It either unclips from the pads or it unplugs behind the wheel arch liner

you'll know for sure when you get the new pads

the wheel arch liners do come out quite easy, I have to remove the passenger side one, on my S-type R when changing the fuel filter

cheers

Joe

I watched the video Joe-dot-com linked and there is a wrong procedure shown.  When you retract the pistons, you should have the bleeders open.  This will prevent the fluid from backing up into the ABS system.  This is important since water is heavier than brake fluid and it, and dirt settles to the lowest point.  You do NOT want either in the ABS mechanism.
