Hi, When I came home from holiday my battery was flat. I suspect it was the dash cam that drained it. Anyway after getting going with jump 

leads and driving for an hour the ABS fault light came on followed by D.SC. not available.

Has anyone experienced this and could it be related to the flat battery?

It could well be.

Bare in mind that any car's charging system is simply not designed to charge a flat battery. The best thing to do is charge it properly out of the car. Preferably with a self regulating "smart" charger, that is one that automatically switches to low amperage for a really low battery. Personally I use Optimate ones but C-TEK are popular and I'm sure there are many other options.

As long lived as car batteries can be, draining them and then not charging them back up properly will shorten their lives dramatically. Hooking up a seemingly healthy battery to one of these "smart" chargers once in a while is not a bad idea, especially with all the voltage sensitive modules and wotnots in modern vehicles.

did charging your battery sort out the Fault?

it maybe completely coincidental, but my rear wheel speed sensor failed, and it threw up ABS / DSC warnings, replace the sensor and fault now gone

Hi, I never got a chance to fully charge the battery to find out. I failed the MOT due to this so had to change out the sensor which cured all the problems.

Hey Guys,

I am currently awaiting an appropriate code reader to get to the bottom of an ABS fault my car is reporting - suspect a wheel sensor but...the Amber Engine Warning light is also lit up.

Do any of you recall whether the ABS fault you encountered was accompanied by a Engine fault report?

Clearly I'm hoping the ECU has simply noted the ABS problem and is lighting up in sympathy.

All advice and suggestions will be gratefully received.

faulty abs sensor usually trigger limp mode and transmission faults, as the auto's heavily rely on the sensors

if you have the engine light on, your code reader should read it

have you tried putting your dash in diagnostic mode should give you the fault codes there,

you can also  bring fault codes up on the touch screen as well, but not sure if abs ones come up on there, as ive never seen any on mine

Many thanks for this, I had thought that my conclusion that the ECU may be coming out in sympathy was wishful thinking, so your advice is very reassuring. I will check out the self diagnostics mode asap to see what I can find and whether I can access the fault codes from the touch screen as well. Will advise results.

hi , I have a 2004 s type and while braking today the pedal went down then I heard a hiss and the pedal was pushed back up and is rock solid, now the brakes don't work when I press the hard pedal.
