Sluggish X Type?

Featured Replies

Hi people!

I've just bought my first Jag-a beautiful blue X Type with cream leather interior and lots of lovely toys to play with.I have named her Jessica, and spent a whole day dressing her with Autoglym so she is as shiny as a new penny.

Driving on the motorway for the first time today,I needed to put the pedal on the floor to get into a small gap to overtake.I was expecting to be pushed into my seat and launched to the moon but it never happened-she seemed to accelerated quite gently but no whoosh!

I've just changed from an Audi TT 1.8t and that was like vertical take off and I was kind of expecting the same.I'm not disappointed, rather more concerned that a 2.5 V6 should pull much stronger.I've never driven a Jaguar before-is this normal?

Welcome to the club, Andy.

I had a 2.5 V6 x type and found it quite nippy, if you can describe a Jaguar so.

I am wondering if the injectors are fully working - a dash of Petrol injector cleaner might sort it out.

Meanwhile, enjoy your Jaguar.
