DSC / Handbrake warnings on dash

Featured Replies

Two warning messages showing on dashboard when ignition turned on.

1) DSC not available.

2) Parking Brake warning.

Parking Brake appears to be working correctly,  engages and holds car, disengaged when it should.

Could these be linked ?

Any suggestions as to where to start looking ?

Cheers guys.

Hi John,

I sometimes get the same warning messages.  They do not stay on.

It never happens when the battery is fully charged.

I would not bother to look anywhere, as the S type, like other Jaguars does quite like a well charged battery, and when it isn't, certain small warnings pop up and then disappear when the alternator starts charging the battery.

Regards,

Peter.

Thanks Peter.

I've been getting rid of the messages by hitting the reset button. I'm only doing this as there doesn't seem to be a problem with the electronic handbrake. As for whether the DSC is working, or not, I don't really know  !

I'm doing the Anglesey - Scotland - Nottingham  - Anglesey run soon, so the battery should get a good charge. We'll see what happens !!

Thanks again for your reply.

Best regards

John

Hey John - I think I would take a battery charger with me - just in case.
