Radio issues - help needed please!

Featured Replies

I recently purchased a Jaguar X 2008.

The battery was changed whilst the car was in the garage (before I bought it). When I bought it the radio needed a code and no one knew it. I spoke to the local Jaguar dealer and they were most helpful and able to give me the code and lo and behold the radio came to life! However when it plays now it is intermittent constantly which makes me feel there is something that needs to be reset..? The radio and CD plays for 3 seconds, then goes silent for 10 seconds, then plays for 3 seconds and silent for 10. This is continual. Anyone experienced this or have any advice.

I am determined I'm going to enjoy this car.

Thanks in advance

hi

the only cure usually is to disconnect the battery, which should reset everything

that would be the first thing I would try

Thanks Joe, I will try that, seems logical. It's strange how the timings are bang on, 3 seconds of sound, 10 seconds of silence, constant for over 10 minutes -  the same applies to the CD. Hopefully your suggestion will remedy the problem.

hi

the only other way is to plug in with jaguar diagnostic software which would show up a fault

cheers

Joe
