I'm Jase, from Dorset and joining the jaaaag club this weekend, (potentially).

So I'm looking at a 2007 2.2d sovereign x-type with 164k on the clocks. The service history is good with mostly jag stamps from new till 2017.

Is there anything I need to be aware of or looking out for when looking it over or during ownership?

Thanks everyone and hello again.

I've attached a pic of the car I'm looking at.

Hi Jase....welcome to the Club

and welcome to the wonderful world of Jaguar!

Great looking car....only advice is to keep on top of the required maintenance and it should see you through many years of faithful service...Enjoy!

Cheers,   Trevor

Welcome to the Club, Jase.

The 2.2 Diesel is a good engine and used on the XF. I would check that the EGR valve has not been blanked off, and the Diesel Particulate Filter [DPF] has not been removed as from 20th May 2018 either alteration mean an automatic MOT Failure.

The car looks quite clean and straight, and although the mileage is above average  it does look to have been a car that has given good service.

Regards,

Peter.
