Help !!!!! I have a beautiful S Type, 2002 3'0 v6, I have ordered a new aux belt for it and each time I get the wrong one, its to short, everyone insists there is only one belt stated for my car,  putting the two belts together mine is a few inches longer , anyone have any idea's or help because this is driving me up the wall.

What have I got to do to get this !Removed! belt, we tried all the belts Europarts have and not one was long enough, Jag said there is only one belt for the S Type sir and its this one, like to see them fit a belt that's 4 " to short.

What is your VIN? We can have a look on the JPEC.

Hello,  its SAJAC1P73FM75185 .

 Thanks in advance.

Hi Jampot,

Coincidentally I replaced the belt on my S Type last weekend - same year as yours but a little younger judging by the VIN, is yours the X200 or the X201 like mine?

I got the new belt from British Parts came out at approx £40 with VAT and Postage but delivered in less than 24 hours. Fits perfectly.

I can provide details but if you can see/read the part number on the old belt? Either way I would give British Parts a call and ask them.

Cheers,

Steve

Hi Again David,

See below for the details of the belt I got from British Parts - according to the VIN range it should fit yours.

BELT

ENGINE DRIVE BELT
JAGUAR S TYPE V6 2003 TO 2009 FROM VIN M62936

Part No. AJ89034

Great thanks for that, I will give them a call, I will be glad to get this sorted.

One thought, theres a fair amount of movement in the drive belt tensioner pulley and the belts do stretch over time. Have you tried to fit the new belt you have to see if it fits within the tolerance of the tensioner movement?

Yes I have the belt fitted and all is well thank you, and the part number is written in large letters on the workshop wall.

 Thanks again for your help
