Auto box selector

I have a  '98 Daimler Super 8 and I'm having trouble with gear selection, If  put it in drive nothing happens but if i put it in neutal it drives perfectly.

There's no limp mode so i hoping its not a gearbox problem and is  the selector in the cabin ?

I had a similar problem that plagued me for years. Then I found the linkage on the end of the selector rods. It was jamming and preventing movement into the park position. The problem was solved when I greased the linkage.
