Any thoughts on likely problem:

- for couple of months occasionally stalling in morning after start-up.  Runs for 5-30 seconds then cuts out.   Starts again and maybe same problem but on second or third attempt with some revs fine. 

- occasionally stalls at junctions/lights once slowed down and clutch depressed

- for first time yesterday stalled while driving at speed

No warning lights, no funny noises or smells and normal performance and MPG.  

Going to garage for basic service, filters etc and check but wonder if any thoughts on likely problem.

The x type uses several engines and members would need to know which one your car has before giving advice.

At a wild guess I think it could be a fuel problem.
