Hi Everyone,

I have just joined as on a whim purchased the above car - unseen ! call me brave or stupid, I wont be offended

Hoping to gain lots of knowledge and advice from this forum. I have (many years ago) owned a plethora of XJ Series 2 CARS, inc XJC 5.3 and Daimler VDP Double Six etc

Firstly, car has no MOT and will need some work for sure. I am based in West London nr Ealing so the first ask is a garage to have an initial look at the car and gain its MOT ?

Secondly, what do I need to look for ? EG usual suspects for rust etc etc

Looking forward to some helpful advice

Welcome to the club, Faried.

The XJS is the last car that was partially designed by Malcolm Sayer, the designer of the E Type.  His drawings were found after his early death.

So you have a classic car.  There is a forum on this site for the XJS owners and there is quite a good following which could well assist you.

The early cars were mainly gas guzzlers and Jaguar developed a less thirsty engine which I think you have.

Let us know how you get on.

Regards,

Peter.
