Newbie looking to buy XF S Portfolio

Featured Replies

Hi, new to the forum. I’m on the hunt for a 2011/12 Face lifted XF 3.0 S Portfolio and was hoping you could offer me some advice as to what to look out for? I’ve got a £12k budget and will be buying in the next few weeks.

obviously I’d prefer as low mileage as possible but is there any knows issues with higher mileage examples?

anything in general to look out for?

many thanks,

MR

Hi MR,

I have a 62 plate XF S Portfolio, Black with cream leather interior. It has a full Jag Service History. 92k on the clock.

Alloys need a refresh and a surface scratch on the drivers side (I am prepared to sort these issues).

Any good??

Hi Clive, thanks for the message but of all options I’m looking for a light exterior with dark interior...

Anyone? Planning to buy this weekend.

had a look at a few over the weekend and came to the conclusion that a lower mileage premium lux doesn’t lose much over a portfolio so S prem lux or portfolio, dark interior is on the hit list.

what should I be looking out for? What mileage do you consider too high (for a 2011/12).

thanks!

My advice would always be to go for a car in perfect condition. It should be gleaming, and every single electrical item should be working.

If it is in perfect condition, and you have seen the appropriate service history, mileage is of little significance.

I had an XF3.0D S five years ago. The only fault I had with mine was the TPMS warning light, which tended to come on in wet weather, even though the tyre pressures were fine: Not a massive problem, but very irritating at the time.
