Camshaft sensor

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Whilst driving my 2007 x type i suddenly got a flashing glow plug symbol and lost complete power, the engine now will not start, whilst turning the engine over i can see the camshaft twitching via the oil cap but not rotating could this be caused by a failed camshaft sensor?

I have been told that it is most likely a cam chain issue. If this is the case is it a case of just replacing the chain or will i now have internal engine damage?

I would say you will have damaged valves and pistons ???  I think the heads need to be removed to check ????
