True mpg question

Featured Replies

I will be getting my first jaguar in January, a Christmas present to myself. I can’t decide weather to go for a 2016 2.2 litre xf diesel or spoil myself and get the 3 litre. Any advice would be appreciated, especially real world fuel figures.

Thank you

Hi Neil,

I have a 2011 XF-S (3.0L Diesel).

Locally I get high 20s and on long motorway trips with cruise control set to 70 (ish!!!), I get high 40s, even 54 once, on the M6 in the 50-limited roadworks.

What clobbers mine is stop-start queuing as it doesn't have auto stop/start and turning the engine off clobbers the stereo and climate control. However, I'm sure that whichever you go for, you'll enjoy it. One tip though: don't sweat too much over fuel consumption - they're meant to be driven!!!

All the best,
Jon

Thanks for the info. I’m 95% certain i will opt for the 3 litre as it’s the one I have always wanted

You won't regret it!!!
