Ok here goes. Started just after lockdown First fault unable to unlock car with key button. Tried new batteries. Didn't work. So had to use smart key socket. Then this stopped working. Called breakdown out unable to do anything. Towed car to garage( main dealer closed) they tried reprogramming key but couldn't. Found a local guy with jaguar programming equipment he managed to reprogram the car by doing a module at a time. He managed to get it back to smart key docking starting but can not understand why it will not programme the passive side tried new car battery (old one not powerful enough) new KVM, a different BCM and new keys also a different remote aerial. The vehicle recognise that there is 3 keys for the car.  Not sure taking it to the main dealer is going to do any good as the equipment they have is the same as the one we are using. Has anybody had the same problem.

thankyou in anticipation

Hi

I had similar problem a few weeks ago, see my previous thread, where battery was totally flat (which was why the remotes were not working). RAC managed to start car using Alternator terminal and earth to jump start car. Everything sorted except both rear doors were double locked and rear windows inoperative.

I have a warranty for life from supplying Fiat dealer so took it to them. They also have several Jag dealers in the group (Motorparks) so they rang them for advice. Jag dealer talked them through process which they said was not uncommon and due to software crashing with low voltage. They hooked up to their computer (obviously not a Jag specific one) and reprogrammed / repaired software, kept overnight to ensure battery fully charged and all now good at no cost to me 🙂

I got impression that it was a simple fix, and VERY impressed that warranty actually worked!

Maybe try ringing one of the Jag dealers in the group and see if they can help? https://www.motorparks.co.uk/dealerships/jaguar?group=Jaguar

They are all in the south.

Hope that helps

Thankyou for info. We are using the up to date jaguar software equipment. It just will not go past the passive key stage so. The car knows it has three keys and will start the car via smart socket. It just won't except them in the passive part of programming. Key have been checked and are working. It seems there is something wrong with the module or wiring the computer can not tell us what
