Hi

i have just purchased a 2009 X type sports jag and the sat nav is displaying 'disk installed is not MAP DVD'.

do i just need to purchase a newer disc to get it to work?

TX

This happened to me, I took the cd out and dried it, I think a hint of damp may stop it working, then repeated to sart it and its never failed since, 3 years ago.

The satnav unit in the boot, not the player, that's for music etc.

That has worked although the 2008-9version isnt great lol.

Would a later version be compatible?

I've only ever used what was in the car, X type 2001 and now 2006, I just make the best of it, don't find it that bad

The latest version you can get for the x/type is 2011/2012 they stopped producing them after that they are readily available on e/bay !! for about £20-25.
