I have a 2009 XF 2.7 luxury,

Last sumer I washed the car and water leaked in behind the carpets in the passenger side and blew the bluetooth module. After removing the carpets and drying them out and soaking up the water everything was fine.

I jet washed the car again and once again water is under the carpet on the passenger side only. The carpets are dry to touch, it's just under them that is wet.

I have heard about a scuttle panel and the pollen filter being a possibility where it leaks from.

Do you recommend completely striping all the plastic trim under the bonnet around the wiper area to see if it's coming in there.

Really at a loss so help with pics much appreciated

Hi, I had the same problem,

it’s probably the windscreen leaking,

On the inside of the car look where the  A pillars touch the screen, you’ll see the electrodes for the heated screen poking out, there’s 4 of them,  (2 each side) this is probably where waters coming in, my windscreen had 5 leaks, the way to check where water is coming in is like this,

buy a half car cover, fit it and jet wash the car, if it leaks then you know it’s from the scuttle down,

if it doesn’t leak then it must be from scuttle up, which can only be windscreen or sunroof

thanks

You don’t have a heated screen ???
that’s rare or a replacement screen, which is another reason for concern,

Take off the A pillar airbag covers and look at the back of them,

is there a brown stain and flaky material there?

also once the covers are off, look at the metal A pillar, can you see water marks. Also look at the vin number at the bottom

of the screen, is it water marked,

It is a 2009 (58) plate luxury, heated windscreens were not standard fitment on these models
