Hi all.

My jaguar xf 2013 has been sat up for a few months due to having a company van and using my other half's car alot.

I got her cleaned up to start using her again and when I come to clean the rear I can't get the drivers rear door open, I think it's deadlocked also, I have took the door panel off to investigate but I can't see any obvious way to get it to open to replace the mechanism.

If there is a way or if someone could point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Sam.

Hi, thanks for the reply.

I understand how to get the mechanism off but sadly my door is deadlocked so I can't get the door open to get to the 3 bolts holding it on, I'm just wondering if there is a way to release the deadlock manually some how, I have had my hands all around the mechanism but can't seem to find any way.

Might not like this answer, but spoke to a friend who said you may need to remove the door to get it fixed. Can access the bolts to do this by opening the front door.

Others may have a better way...

Personally, I would remove the seat base first then remove the door card and then operate the lock manually to open the door.

If that possible sounds like a better option
