Hello - I'm curious to know if an XK1?0 fhc, originally UK reg. 539 APH, survives. I found it around 1970, buried in bushes on an old WW2 bomb site in my home town of Plymouth. I set my teenage heart on retrieving and rebuilding it, and called at a nearby hotel to enquire if they knew anything about it. By the following weekend it was gone, along with an old Mk 9 resting nearby. Some years later I saw an XK with the same registration on a stand at London Motorfair, the salesman gave me a long spiel about its cherished history. When I mentioned the bomb site he became hostile, within an hour the plates were removed. I often wonder if it's still around. Sadly I have no photo of it on the bomb site.

Clive,

A very interesting story and I especially like the not unusual bit about the "Hostile Salesman." Hope you do get to track the car down.

Best Wishes and Regards, John
