Hi,

Anyone had any issues with engine failure of the above make and model?

We were driving along the M25 on Sunday and everything just cut out; no warning - dashboard lit up and now the car won't even turn over. Looks like a total failure. 50k miles just done that same day. Car has been serviced every year that I've had it; was bought second hand, used approved from main dealer.

Grateful if anyone has had previous experience with this who could advise. Car is on a PCP.

Thanks in advance

I Have a 2014 XJL exactly same happened to me My 3Ltr engine has done 60k miles. Had it diagnosed by Jaguar specialist and they have pinpointed the Cam shaft as a known fault on the 3Ltr engines also fitted in Range Rovers. As the cam shaft & shells etc cannot be bought from Jaguar they are reluctant to do the re-build & sujest a replacement New engine from Jaguar or replacement re-built engine from Jaguar. This is a massive cost. Not sure if to stick or twist?
