Air con problem

Featured Replies

Hi again everyone,

Having an issue with the Aircon on my XF 2012 3.0DS 275 X250 FACELIFT.

my Aircon doesn't get cold it gets cool but not cold and is better on motorway than around town obviously due to more airflow to the front of the car. I've tried to diagnose it but am running out of ideas. I've had it regassed and apparently they did a leak test and was ok, the compressor seems to be working it's spinning ok and the magnetic clutch is working fine, my radiator fan is working. I guess the front radiator is the condenser ? The other 2 get cold and the condenser gets hot which I assume is it exchanging the heat out to the atmosphere? My external temp reads ok in the cabin so I think sensor is ok.

Anybody got any ideas?

Thanks

There’s a valve in the compressor that can go bad

Mine is doing the sae thing and I have been informed by my local garage that the compressor needs replacing at a cost of £980.

So I am driving around with the windows open now.

You can change said valve for a new one

  • 2 weeks later...

Evening all ,had same issue with mine ,cool aircon but not cold ,only noticed it when the heatwave hit ,had it regassed at a cost of £69:00 absolutely 🥶  freezing in there now ,the technician who done it said that you need to have it regassed every 4 to 5 years as the gas deteriates over time
