Owner of Jag for first time - XF

Hi All,

Delighted to be able to join you as today I’ve signed on the dotted line and purchased an XF. The Jaguar is the only car I’ve ever actually desired, and as I’m just over 60 (I can’t believe I’m that age) it’s now or never. Test drove it on Saturday it’s a dream, one owner, full Jaguar service history and 37k miles. Awaiting deliver later this week, really excited. 

Look forward to help and advice from all of you in the “Prowl” which is one of the collective nouns for a group of Jaguars 🐆 the other two being “Leap” or “Parade”

Welcome aboard Ian! You're a bit north of me (saw your location in another thread) as i'm down the A1065 a bit from you in Suffolk, i'm a little younger than you (but not much) and also wondering how it crept up me so quickly without me noticing! 😮

Thank you for the welcome, todays the day my XF arrives so I’m really looking forward to the weekend. Time goes by very quickly I’m not sure how I’m 61, I’m sure I’ve not been around that long.

How is the XF coming along Ian? You have it by now i'm guessing?

Yes, just been out on first drive. I had busy work day yesterday so it was delivered to my son-in-laws, we had torrential rain like most of UK so our road outside or home was flooded, so I’m pleased it was at his. Took Mrs Norfolk Ian out for drive and we both love it. Took it to my first home (in back ground of photo).

Glad to hear that Ian, i was out and about in mine today, first time since getting all 4 tyres renewed. Vast difference in all areas - quieter, smoother, more "planted" on the road, grippier - i could go on.

Plenty of tread on the old ones but they were old! Newest was ~7 years old so if anything ever seems untoward, have a look at the date code on the tyres!

They do make you feel special driving them though. 😉 😄

I seem to have been very lucky with this purchase, four new tyres 🛞 fitted in February this year. Two new experiences coming up today driving on a dry day and in the dark on the way home.

I’m enjoying taking photos of my XF, I think it may become a regular thing. Last night as we drove home Mrs Norfolk Ian took one of the moon 🌙 in the wing mirror

Aaaargh!!! That rattled my brain cell! The image shows a waxing moon but i know it's currently waning as i was watching it a couple of nights ago because it was a very crisp, almost perfect semicircle.

Then i remembered it was mirror image because - wait for it - it's in the mirror! D'oh! I should wake up more before letting my thoughts run away!

Great pic though! 😉 😄
