Poor insurance valuation

Featured Replies

Just had my insurer write off my lovely XKR 4.2 Supercharged from 2008. Only 40000 miles. They valued at £12k.  It was in too condition and I’d spent money getting new discs.  Is there anyone who does valuations that I can use to challenge them?

Find as many similar examples as you can that are for sale and forward all the links to the insurer, pointing out that you are disputing their valuation on this basis.

It might also be worth getting a valuation from an independent some, some of the owners clubs provide this facility.

Seems a low valuation. I bought a 2000 registered XK8 4.0l 6 months ago. 35k on the clock, very good condition, paid £11k.

How did you get on with the valuation ?
