HI AGAIN.

WHEN I GO TO CLOSE THE BONNET,IT DOESN'T LOCK STRAIGHT AWAY,I HAVE TO FORCE IT A BIT. WHEN I PULL THE LEVER TO OPEN BONNET,I HAVE TO MAKE SURE HANDLE IS IN THE FLAT POSITION FOR IT TO SHUT PROPERLY. RECENTLY I'VE HAD TROUBLE CLOSING BONNET. SOUNDS LIKE I'LL NEED A NEW CABLE MAYBE? WILL IT COST THAT MUCH?

THANKS AGAIN.

Replacing the bonnet release cable is a common maintenance issue on the X-type. Best to undertake the work before the cable gives up as releasing the bonnet after the cable has broken is quite involved / difficult. In addition, the existing cable can be used to thread the new cable into place.

OK, I'LL DO THAT. HOW MUCH WOULD I BE LOOKING AT APPROX?

If you purchase the replacement cable and undertake the task yourself, should be very inexpensive.
