After overnight, engine will not start unless ignition is switched on and wait 10 minutes. after this it starts immediately.

I can switch off and restart immediately normally but the longer the engin is off, the longer I have to leave the ignition switched on before normal start.

Any ideas would be appreciated

Have you tried jump starting? When you say it won't "start" does it turn over but fail to start or fails to turn over? If it turns over, is it sluggish?

John

Are the glow plugs working - it's a diesel?

Hello John,

Battery full, turns over rapidly with easystart it will fire but not run. It seems that the injectors are not being activated

Yes, glowplugs are working. If I use easystart it will fire but not run. Injecters are being inhibited but no DTC's showing

Hi Michael

Seems you have no fuel available at first. Sounds like a problem I had with an old Peugeot 208 where there was a loose connection in the fuel line to the pump allowing air in and thus letting the fuel slip back down the line. This needed prolonged turnover or manual pumping of the fuel pump (it had a primer on top!) before it would start. Obviously the longer it sits between "sessions" the more time the fuel has to creep back down the fuel line if that is your problem

I would check the fuel lines for leaks / loose connections and look / smell for fuel leaks and possible areas where air could be getting in the line.

Good luck

John
