Only had the car 2 days and am really pleased with it. I've found a speaker and a microphone in the car and th radio has a phone button but when I press phone it says "NO PHONE" can anyone tell me how or what I need to get the in car phone function working, is it an early bluetooth thing or what?

I have the same model bud, and exactly the same message, but mine has the microphone fitted in the roof light cluster above the windscreen and it had a bracket fitted to the left of the centre entertainment console. I removed this when i changed the mini disc to a cd based radio, but noticed a wire that had been cut in the same area as the bracket, so I assume that it would have been a hard wired system. As far as I can tell it has no after market use what so ever, I don't think it would have had Bluetooth fitted either. If it has I would be surprised if todays smartphones would connect to it as they have a different version of Bluetooth spec.

If you find out anything different let me know bud.

Hi pezzzer I have the 2001 model and the phone is fitted in the center armrest in the top compartment but there is also a large box unit fitted on the left hand side of the boot behind the liner, if these parts are not present then some one has removed the whole phone system, the only solution is to fit an after market bluetooth radio and this will work with modern mobile phones. My next question is what did you do with the Minidisc unit you removed from your jaguar? if you still have it would you consider selling it,if so please contact me at [email protected] Regards Frank.
