Hi to all, I am hoping someone can shed some light on a few glitches I have. When I am sitting in the house, the car has been outside for hours the alarm suddenly goes off, factory unit, also when driving down the road the interior light will suddenly light up, and the door sign on the dash illuminates, if I press the washer button the interior light also comes on. and ,last where do the hand brake cables seive up, really would like some help with this, oh yes, What kind of job is it to shance the rear hub bushes on an 02 2.0 petrol x type. MANY THANKS FROM hypnosisworks

Welcome Shaun, Enjoy the forum, the alarm could either water has got in to the an alarm sensor or with the problems with the interior lights is either a bad earth or a wire loose or not connected correctly, causing the battery to drain, hence why the alarm goes off, I would check the interior lights first then follow it to you locate the problem, or take the car to an auto electrician., good luck

Hi,

I have a 55 plate jaguar x type sd, 2.0 I brought it cheap as a friend had terminal cancer, the rac diagnosed as fuel pump which we have replaced. I've been told it's the transit version engine. We have replaced the fuel and fuse box but it still won't start, unable to plug diagnostic machine in can anyone give us an idea what it can be as so far I spent £300 on parts.
