XJ8 1999 ELECTRICAL PROBLEM WITH WINDOW AND SUNROOF

This started last month and what happens is the following...

Driver's window will not work, sunroof opens but after a few seconds will close again.

The way i cure it is to disconnect the battery for 30 mins then everything works again...however after a couple of days the problem will return. does anyone have any idea what is causing this in the first place and a perminant cure?

Hi Nick

Perhaps when closing the drivers window the motor or switch has a fault?

Reset the battery again and then open sunroof and window then close the drivers window and try holding the swtich on the drivers wndow to close. Keeping your finger on the switch does the sunroof close when holding the button down?
