flashing glow plug light

Featured Replies

Hi all, As a new member, i recently posted an introduction thread as to whether or not i had made a mistake swopping my trusty Volvo v40 for a 2 lt. diesel X type.Unfortunately it appears that i have!!

After driving less than 25 miles, the glow plug light has started to flash and then the car comes to a halt. .After re-starting the engine all is ok but then at no particular set times the light starts flashing again.

Any advise please as to what is wrong and how it is rectified. The model is an 04 saloon

Many thanks

HI

This sounds like you have a problem with some of the glow plugs. The car will turn itself off if there is a fault.

It may have logged a code in the engine management system so you should try and see if one is available by having your car connected to a diagnostic machine.
